Trauma counselling online
Something happened, recently or a long time ago, and it still shapes how you feel, react and live. Trauma counselling helps you feel safe in yourself again, without having to relive everything.
Does this sound familiar?
- Memories, flashbacks or nightmares pull you back to what happened.
- You feel numb, cut off or “not really here”.
- You’re jumpy, constantly on guard or easily startled.
- You avoid places, people or anything that reminds you.
- You carry shame or blame about what happened.
- It was years ago, but it still affects your relationships, sleep or confidence.
What trauma does
Trauma can come from a single event, such as an accident, an assault or a sudden loss. It can also build up over time, through childhood neglect, bullying or an abusive relationship.
When something overwhelms us, the nervous system can stay stuck in survival mode long after the danger has passed. That’s why you might know you’re safe now, but not feel it. This isn’t a weakness. It’s your mind and body doing their best to protect you.
How I can help
Trauma-informed counselling puts your safety and choice first. You set the pace, and you don’t have to tell me every detail. Together we can:
- build tools to steady yourself when you feel overwhelmed or triggered
- make sense of your reactions, so they feel less frightening
- when you’re ready, gently process what happened so it has less hold on you
- ease shame and self-blame
- rebuild trust, in yourself and in other people
- support you through loss and bereavement, including pregnancy and baby loss
I’m trained in trauma-informed positive psychology, abuse recovery, the rewind technique and inner child work, and I tailor the approach to you.
How it works
- Book a free 30-minute chat. We talk about what’s going on and what you’d like to change. There’s no pressure to continue.
- Weekly 50-minute sessions on Zoom. From home, or anywhere private where you feel comfortable.
- Small steps between sessions. Short, practical exercises help you put what we talk about into everyday life.
I offer sessions seven days a week, including evenings and weekends, so you don’t have to wait for a gap in a waiting list.
Fees: sessions are from £55 for 50 minutes, with monthly packages available. Your first 30-minute chat is free.
