Online counselling across the UK
Couples counselling online
You care about each other, but somewhere along the way you’ve got stuck. Couples counselling gives you both a calm, neutral space to be heard, and a way forward.
Does this sound familiar?
- You have the same argument again and again, and nothing gets resolved.
- You feel more like flatmates than partners.
- One of you wants to talk it through; the other shuts down or walks away.
- Trust has been broken, through an affair or in another way.
- A big change (a baby, a move, a stepfamily, illness or money worries) has pulled you apart.
- You’re not sure whether you want to stay together.
It’s the pattern, not the people
Most couples who come to me aren’t short of love. They’re caught in a pattern: one person pushes, the other pulls away, and each reaction makes the other worse. From the inside it can feel hopeless, but patterns can be seen, understood and changed.
My job isn’t to take sides or decide who’s right. It’s to help you both understand what’s happening between you, and to find a way of talking that brings you closer instead of further apart.
How I can help
In our sessions we can:
- make sure both of you are properly heard
- spot the pattern that keeps tripping you up
- learn to raise difficult things without blame or defensiveness
- repair trust after a betrayal
- rebuild closeness, affection and fun
- if you decide to part, do it with as much respect and care as possible
I draw on relationship coaching, Gestalt and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), and give you simple practices to try together between sessions.
How it works
- Book a free 30-minute chat. We talk about what’s going on and what you’d like to change. There’s no pressure to continue.
- Weekly 50-minute sessions on Zoom. You can join together from the same room, or from two different places if that’s easier. Occasionally I may suggest an individual session with each of you.
- Small steps between sessions. Short, practical exercises help you put what we talk about into everyday life.
I offer sessions seven days a week, including evenings and weekends, so you don’t have to wait for a gap in a waiting list.
Fees: sessions are from £55 for 50 minutes, with monthly packages available. Couples sessions are priced on enquiry. Your first 30-minute chat is free.
A note on safety: if either of you feels frightened of the other, couples counselling isn’t the right place to start. Individual support is safer. The National Domestic Abuse Helpline is free and open 24 hours on 0808 2000 247.
